There is a talk that Nortel could actually buy Avaya. Now this is not a typical acquisition when a giant literally absorbs a pygmy. Here we talk about actual merging of big companies, which could be the birth of the biggest player on VoIP hardware.

Avaya has the reputation of a tasty bite, while it is still incomparable to a company like Cisco Systems. There are some doubts that the deal is that winning because of roadmap and product overlap. Stay tuned to see what happens.
