Packet Island introduced its VoIP micro-appliance, a small device for monitoring and troubleshooting VoIP networks. A 4” x 4.5” silver-colored, brushed aluminum case accommodates the device. It is quick and easy to install, based on Packet Island’s “PacketSmart” network monitoring and troubleshooting solution it helps operators prioritize voice packets over other data. The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS )solution (hosted at a Tier-1 data center) is also used for pre-assessing networks for VoIP readiness. The micro-appliance offers “fail-safe operation” (no network disruption even during power failure); the ability to work in front of NAT firewalls; the ability to work with mirrored switch ports; VLAN support; and an LCD display for easy use. Since it is designed especially for the SMB market, the device includes additional firmware enhancements to further simplify “plug-and-play” operation for different network environments. The device is most useful for monitoring VoIP networks. Check out the original article by clicking on the link underneath. Source: Read original source |
