Those weren't just rumors, I suppose. After Truphone, the MVoIP (Mobile Voice over IP) startup acquired SIM4travel, a UK-based mobile virtual network operator, the next thing to expect really is producing its own SIM cards. Anyway, Truphone recently added SMS to their services and now are headed straight to being the first Mobile operator to support GSM and Wi-Fi using SIP. The company has reportedly raised $32.7 million (16.5 Million UK Pounds) from current and new investors in order to support the scheme. Truphoe got the technology from SIM4Travel, and has a decent capital, plus core infrastructure for 40 million subscribers. If something doesn't go totally wrong, Truphone will gain much, much speed.
