No VoIP on Nokia N95 from Vodafone UK and Orange contracts

Yes, it is surely very sad when giants like Vodafone UK and Orange do whatever it takes to keep their revenues steadily upwards. How about buying a phone with manufacturer features that are disabled just because of the contract you sign with mobile carriers? A good example would be Nokia N95 with Internet telephony option… missing. So if you have any idea of making a free VoIP call with it, just forget about it. Even installing VoIP software can’t get you there. I am unaware whether this is legal, or if a contract should be containing info that you are actually buying a crippled version of the phone. Every time I see signs of 20th century lovers, who’d do anything to obstruct the expansion of VoIP technology merely because they had not planned that technology would advance as fast, well, there is no way I couldn’t condemn them and their really lousy efforts.
